T-Mobile - Perfect For Those on the Upgrade Treadmill

The Upgrade Treadmill is something gadget lovers struggle with on a frequent basis.  Companies release so many devices with incremental improvements that those always wanting the next best thing are in a perpetual state of buying and selling devices to feed our addiction.  This can often be time consuming and not very cost-effective. With T-mobile's advent of the 'uncarrier' label and their value plans, I believe they've positioned themselves to both change the cell phone game and help us that always want the latest tech.

T-mobile is great for gadget lovers because you are able to grab a new phone at any time so long as you are willing to pay the monthly fee towards the remainder of the phone's balance.  This means you could technically owe on one phone, and still pick up a new phone as long as you continue paying the subsidy for both phones each month.  This tactic is great for those that want to have multiple devices without forking out hundreds up front.  Their new plans allow you to get into that device for a great price and make affordable payments each month towards the remainder

Another great feature of their new plans is the ability for you to sell your device at any time to fund your next purchase.  On other carriers, if you sell your device before your two year renewal date you must make your purchase for the full amount of the next phone.  On T-Mobile you're able to sell your phone, pay the remaining balance off and then purchase your next device at the reduced rate and continue making payments monthly towards your new devices subsidy.  This tactic lets you roll over profit from the sale of one phone into the purchase of the next one effectively having you come out of pocket $0 at the time of purchase.  Then you continue paying $20 for top of the line phones each month, which is fairly affordable and only lowers the balance to pay off when the next device comes out 5-6 months from now.

These strategies have enabled me to upgrade from the Amaze 4G to the Nexus 4 to the Note 2 and now I've rolled all my excess profit into the purchase of the Oppo Find 5.  While my latest purchase is not from T-mobile, since all my other phones have been paid for I was able to get a new phone AND lower my monthly bill by $20 until I decide to pick up another device (the HTC One and Galaxy S4 are mighty tempting).

I'd love to hear your thoughts below on this, please comment or share!
